Penny Black Halloween Forest

Hello! Today I am sharing a Halloween card featuring Penny Black supplies for which I envisioned a witch in a spooky forest!

Penny Black Halloween Forest

  • I stamped and Copic-colored the witch hedgehog from the 30-592 Critter Costumes set and fussy cut her.
  • I cut the trees with the recently-released 51-675 Windy die set, which features two trunks and a variety of leaves.
  • I cut the sentiment using the 51-077 Eeek! set.
  • I cut the pumpkins with the  51-360 Pumpkins & Leaves set.
  • I assembled the scene on a background on which I had blended Distress inks.

Spellbinders October 2020 Small Die of the Month

Hello! Today, I am sharing two fall-themed cards created with this month’s Small Die of the Month kit at Spellbinders – “Fall Leaves Card Creator.”

Spellbinders October 2020 Small Die of the Month

On the first card, (A2-size, off-white, linen-textured base), I used the Small Die of the Month set to create a rectangular frame of Brush Gold. The set contains a corner piece and a joiner piece, which can be added to form either a rectangle (as shown) or 5 1/2″ square (if the joiner piece is used on all sides).

  • I cut foliage from Bristol board, to which I had applied fall colors, and glued the pieces to the frame.
  • I cut the sentiment from Brush Gold and placed it in the center of the frame.

My second card, a 4 1/4″ square, uses the set’s corner pieces.

  • I cut the Small Die of the Month corner pieces from Bristol board and applied ink to the pieces starting in the corner with the darkest ink.
  • I added the assembled frame to a 4″ square on which I had glimmer foiled a sentiment from the Everyday Sentiments II set in Gold.
  • The card base was created with wood-textured card stock.

  • I cut the foiled panel with the die in the Essential Squares set.
  • I assembled the basket and apples, adding the assembly to the sentiment square.

Copic colors – Fur: E53, E55, E57, E59; Body: E30, R20; Acorn: E37, E99

What I like about this card: I especially like the hedgehog images; I’m thrilled that Penny Black is making more coordinating die sets for their images. I’m also drawn to the colors of fall, and it was fun incorporating the colors into the coloring and the ink choices for the circles.
